Hardware requierments

Greetings!
I am having problems finding information about hardware requierments for running Autopsy. Can I run it on Vmware, Hyper - V? How about support for GPU? Which Windows server versions does it support? What is best practice when it comes to amount of CPU / RAM / HDD for each of the required servers?

:c)

Yes, there are current deployments on VMWare. I don’t have any direct knowledge of Hyper-V deployments but it should work the same.

There is no built-in GPU support in Autopsy. There may be modules that can leverage the GPU but I’m not aware of any off the top of my head.

I’ve seen it run on Windows Server 2012 R2, 2016 and 2019.

As much as you can afford
As with similar applications, I/O tends to be the bottleneck so having separate drives for your input and output (ideally SDD for input) is important. Beyond that it depends on a range of factors including but not limited to the type/size of input you need to process and the type of analysis you are looking to perform.
